Look around you, we are surrounded by beautiful things such as mountains, lovely buildings, pets, lush gardens and beautiful people.
These things are grouped into living and non-living things. Living things are things that have life, just like you!

Examples of living things are people, animals and plants.
Non-livings things do not have any life in them, just like your toys!

Examples of non-living things are toys, books, chairs, fans, pencil etc.
Living things are different from non-living things in the following ways:
1. Living things can eat while non-living things cannot eat food.
2. Living things can move while non-living things cannot move anywhere.
3. Living things can grow while non-living things cannot grow.
4. Living things can breathe in air while non-living things cannot.
5. Living things can reproduce while non-living things cannot reproduce.
6. Living things have feelings, they can feel happy, sad or hurt while non-
living things do not have any feelings.

Now you know a lot about living and non-things, let us try out a task together.
Can you pick the odd one out?
A. Fish
B. Girl
C. Calendar
D. Pig
