An occupation is a job you do to earn a living. In our community, there are different kinds of occupations.

Some occupations need special formal training in a higher institution while some others do not require any formal education. Jobs that require formal training or education in a higher institution such as a university is called a profession. Examples of professions and their places of work are:

Occupations or jobs that do not require formal training is called a vocation. A vocation is learned through constant training and acquired experience. A person who learns a vocation is called an apprentice. Examples of vocations and their places of work are:

Having an honest job when you grow up means you will be able to independently earn a living, take care of your needs and contribute to your country’s economy by paying your taxes.
