The future continuous tense is a verb that tells someone about something that you will be doing in the future.
Think of something you will be doing tomorrow. Let’s say you will be meeting your friend tomorrow. Take note of the words I just used will be meeting. This is how future continuous tenses are formed.
It is formed using will + be + the present tense + -ing.
Let’s check out what Sam will be doing next week.
Sam says he will be running a marathon next week.
Now that we have learnt about future continuous tenses, let’s form future continuous tenses from root verbs.
Remember, to form a future continuous verb we must add will + be before the verb and –ing after the root verb.
For example:
At five o’clock tomorrow, she __ (get) ready to go out.
At five o’clock tomorrow, she will be getting ready to go out.
Now form future continuous tenses with the root verb in the bracket!
Next year, we _ (travel) to London.
A. travelled
B. may travel
C. will be travelling
Excellent! Option C is the correct answer.
Next year, we will be travelling to London.
